This girl is in dire need of a glow up - the poor thing has been sitting in a bin for the past few years while we've moved homes several times and settled in. I'm finally unpacking my beloved art and craft supplies from a multi-year hiatus and wow does it feel great having access to everything again!
I remember sitting in my college dorm sewing up scraps of my old tattered hoodie that no longer fit, and remnants I bought from JoAnns to create this cozy outfit. It was my foray into sewing clothing at all, and needless to say the pants don't quite fit at all when the doll is sitting, haha.
I think it's time to ditch the loungewear and make a cute summer dress, on the preppy side. I had sewn this extremely small dress for my daughter's mini Blythe doll, with pin tuck blouse, collar, and fluffy skirt. I didn't end up finishing the sleeves l, but my daughter loved it regardless. It's my inspiration for this dress. It's quite a bit larger doll, so hopefully it also is easier to work with.
For fabric options, I need a lightweight fabric that will give me the flowiness that I am looking for. I pulled a few from my stash that I think will work. We'll be switching out the wig to this golden orange colored one. I can't decide if I like the off-white fabric with yellow flowers better or the pale yellow fabric with pink flowers. Suggestions?
